FAQ-I005 FAQ-I005
What features can be added to the IS-IBC1?

Q:  What other features can be added to the IS-IBC1®?

A:      Automatic Blower Balance

In the automatic blower balance system, all blower coordination functions are performed by the system.  There is no need to train operators on how to balance or null blowers.  The entire process of starting the line is reduced to the following:  Turn on inlet blower, pull bubble up to the nip, close nip, wait until bubble flares pass through the nip, then turn on outlet blower. The system keeps the blowers synchronized until both blowers are up to speed and then automatically tunes the inlet blower speed to match the flow of the outlet blower.  The system also rebalances the blowers as needed.

Color Touch Screen Controls

The IS-IBC1® can be equipped with optional color touch screen controls.  The color touch screen is a 6" display with standardized colors and shapes and has five languages: English, Spanish, German, French and Italian.  The touch screen also supplies online help, system setup tutorials, multiple trend charts, and multi-level security access.

Layflat Controller

The layflat controller adds the ability to check the bubble a second time for proper size and layflat.  Instead of relying on one or more sensors near the frost line to keep a bubble on size, a second set of sensors is installed just above the sizing cage.  The sensors provide an accurate indication of the final layflat long before the film arrives at the winding station or at any flat width measuring point.  Therefore, the layflat controller reduces the time required to get the bubble on size.  The feature is also able to help reduce layflat changes from long-term process variations.

Automatic Cage Controller

The automatic cage controller (ACC) allows operators to enter the desired layflat and continue with other setup issues while the system properly sizes the bubble.  The ACC maintains the proper relationship between the bubble and the cage during the size change process.  It even coordinates the size change request with the blower speeds to keep the process as smooth as possible.

Neck Height Controller  (High neck - High stalk)

The IS-IBC1® has neck height control capability for high stalk, high-density bubbles.  This device measures neck position and modifies the cooling temperature of the air ring and IBC to keep the neck position stable.  The system can be interfaced with a variety of chilling/heating units.
